๐ Aula Abara holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of London, a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in the United Kingdom, and a specialization in Infectious Diseases from Imperial College London.
๐ผ Currently serves as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine at Imperial College NHS Trust, London, and as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College. She also works part-time with Mรฉdecins Sans Frontiรจres (Amsterdam) as an Infectious Diseases/Malaria Advisor. She is the co-founder of the Syrian Public Health Network (2015) and has led research initiatives with the Syrian American Medical Society.
๐ She teaches and supervises research on Syria and public health in conflict settings, and serves as a Commissioner on the Lancet Commission on Health and Migration in Conflict. Since 2025, she has been pursuing a research fellowship on antimicrobial resistance in conflict zones. She also brings extensive consultancy experience with the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Union (EU), and the United Nations (UN) on Syrian health issues.
