
Mohammed Zaher Sahloul
Dr. Mohammed Zaher Sahloul is a physician well known for his dedication to providing medical care and humanitarian assistance to those in need. He has been a leading advocate for strengthening the health sector in Syria over the past fourteen years, supporting the Syrian people on multiple fronts, and contributing to the development of scientific and health capacities under the challenging conditions of war.
He serves as the President of MedGlobal, a non-profit organization committed to delivering critical health care to communities affected by crises and poverty worldwide.
Dr. Sahloul has led numerous medical missions to areas impacted by natural and man-made disasters, including Syria, Yemen, Ukraine, Colombia, Sierra Leone, Puerto Rico, and Bangladesh.
He is recognized as a prominent voice in the global health community, advocating for the protection of health workers and the expansion of medical relief efforts in challenging environments. He has published widely on the impact of wars on health.
Professionally, Dr. Sahloul is an Intensive Care Specialist at Advocate Christ Medical Center and an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
