Ammar Joukhadar

Ammar Joukhadar is the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics Engineering at the University of Damascus since 2023. In 2014, he served as an advisor to ESCWA and the Syrian Ministry of Communications on the country’s digital transformation strategy. Between 2008 and 2014, he was the National Director for the UNDP project focused on developing and modernizing Syrian government services. Earlier, he served as Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering from 2003 to 2007 and as a consultant for GTZ (German Agency for International Cooperation) on the digital transformation strategy at the Ministry of Housing in 2005.

He is also a co-founder of Elixir Smart Software Company and has served as Technical Director and Partner at Vermeg. He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (1997) and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence (1993) from the National Polytechnic Institute, Grenoble, France.
