Massa Mufti

Massa Mufti is an education expert with more than 25 years of experience in the United States, Lebanon, and Syria. She founded the organization “Sonbola” (2013–2020), which worked on providing quality education for refugee and marginalized children in Lebanon. She has held several positions, including Director of Arabic Curricula at Learning Equality (2019–2021), Education Consultant for Syria with ESCWA (2013–2018), Research Fellow at the Issam Fares Institute at the American University of Beirut (2017–2019), MEPLI Fellow at Harvard University (2019), and Fellow at the Syrian Center for Policy Research (2022).

She most recently worked as Education Specialist at Plan International – Lebanon (2022–2024), and is currently engaged in policy research and advocacy for education reform and peacebuilding in Syria, with a focus on education policies, curricula, teacher training, and education in emergencies and post-conflict contexts.

Masa holds a Master’s degree in French Literature from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the American University of Beirut, in addition to certified training from Harvard University and INFE in education, management, and leadership.
